Who We Are

Northbend Church is a family of individuals who meet together in two different locations that have found hope in Jesus, and simply want as many people as possible to experience that exact same freedom. No matter who you are or where you come from, we want you to experience life change with others!

Where we come from

Northbend Church was started by Pastor Jason & Hollie Simpkins in their home. The original “house church” was located near where the Mason location stands today. It started as something small and grew into several families meeting every week. These families imagined a church that was truly welcoming to everyone - where every person had a seat at the table regardless of their past, history, family background, ethnicity, or gender.

We then built our first church building and hosted our first service in the building in February 2007. After a few years in our building, we had seen so much growth that we had to move our Sunday Services to Wahama High School! We had a portable church there every Sunday for 52 weeks while we expanded our existing building into the new, larger facility that we have today.

By 2017, Pastor Jason knew that God was calling us to go into more areas and open new Northbend Church locations to reach even more people with the Gospel Message of Jesus. In September 2018, Pastor Jason announced that we would be opening another location in Huntington, WV in September 2019. We held monthly services at the Big Sandy Convention Center for the 6 months leading up to our launch and we are now holding Weekly Sunday Evening Services in Huntington, WV at the Convention Center as well as two Sunday Morning Services in Mason, WV!

Where we're headed

More than ever, Northbend Church is committed to reaching the area with the message of Jesus Christ. We believe that God is not finished with us yet and that we are just getting started. As we move forward as a church, we have plans of expanding our reach into even more communities.

Doing all we can to reach people with the message of Jesus.

Building and growing the local church in rural areas by establishing a culture of worship, education, community impact, and lasting leadership that will work together to declare the message of Jesus.

Jesus is the center of all that we do

This is a church of acceptance, invitation, and evangelism.

The mission is more important than my preference.

We are better unified as the church.

Living grateful for what Christ has done.

We are living for the Kingdom so we give into the Kingdom.

Being genuine to who we are and whose we are.

What this means for you
